Oven Cleaners
Commercial over cleaners are one of the most toxic and unpleasant products you could use. If the fumes from the application aren't bad enough, the foul smell of chemical burn-off the stuff continues to produce is enough to make one afraid of turning on the oven! The following formulas work very well. No oven cleaner is a miracle worker, however. Sometimes it may require a bit of elbow grease if there's a great deal of buildingup on your oven walls and floor.
When vinegar is added to baking soda a fizzing reaction occurs. While this might startle you at first, it is perfectly normal.
Let's do it!!!
Sunday Oven-Cleaning Formula.
This formula is for regular oven maintenance.
2 tbs baking soda
2 tbs liquid castile soap
10 drops lemon or lime essential oil
1/2 cup hot water
1. Preheat oven to 250 F for 15 minutes, then turn off and leave door open.
2. Combine the baking soda, soap, and essential oil in a clean spray bottle. Ass the water and shake well.
3. Spary on oven walls and wait 20 minutes. Wipe clean and rinse well.
